Airport Shenanigans : My First Time Traveling Alone

Traveling alone was definitely one of my life goals. Unfortunately, it didn't go well as I anticipated. The hardest part? I had to leave my dad again. My dad is an OFW, he works as a Computer Engineer in Saudi Arabia, and every holiday or every summer he either visits us here in the Philippines, or we fly over there in Saudi. My mom and my siblings had to go back home, but I insisted on staying with my dad until I had to go back to school. It was fun while it lasted. I felt much closer to my dad. We had the most amazing time together.

And now comes the depressing part. Saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do. Especially with your loved ones. Every minute that has passed, I kept on praying that my flight would get delayed or canceled, so I could stay longer with my dad, but of course no delays, no cancellations. That time finally came and I swear I couldn't let go of my dad, I gave him the most bone-crushing hug, and a serious amount of kisses, and of course I couldn't stop the tears from streaming. Everyone was staring. some we're weirded out, and some just watched in awe.

Okay, enough with that. " Goodbyes" and " I'll miss yous" were said. Hugs and kissed were exchanged. It's time for me to look for a place to seat and wait for my flight to be called , and of course, there was Starbucks so I had to stop and buy me some Iced Caramel Macchiato, Venti of course. Typical of me. After that, I sat down and waited for the intercom to announce that it's time for us to board the plane. I kept looking around, and nervously drinking my coffee, I was still crying on the inside, and I kept having these thoughts that were making me nervous. It was my first time, so I was overthinking.

An hour has passed and it's time for us to board. I don't know why, but I was shaking, and holding my passport and my boarding pass so tightly. I got inside the plane, and sat down, I was assigned near the window seat. That's good news for me because I get to see the view outside, and of course, I get to take some pictures The first thing I did? Was none other than add some new stories to my Snapchat. I was also very happy that no one was seating next to me. But later on, two guys sat next to me. Let's just say it didn't go well after that.

My back and my neck were so sore, I didn't get any sleep, my phone ran out of battery, and the two guys who sat next to me, kept making small talk, and I just hate that, and I had to excuse myself from the two guys seating next to me five times because I had to go to the bathroom because I had a little problem. But that little problem didn't stop there. We finally landed, and I was supposed to be happy because I'm back home but no, I had to fix my " problem " first. When I fixed it, I was finally done with everything the immigration, the baggage claim, and the last thing I had to do, was to meet my brother and my uncle. Sadly, my mom and my younger brother weren't able to come with them to collect me, because they had to do some things. But nevertheless, I was excited to see them.

So many things happened that day. But one thing I learned the most is that, you should always make time for your loved ones, because you never know when you'll lose them, make time for them as much as possible, a simple greeting from you would be enough, you are lucky to have these people around you, cherish them. This has nothing to do with my blog, but I just want to put it out there, because I tend to focus on other things, rather than the important things. And I also learned to be more responsible, aware of my surroundings and independent.

That's how my first solo flight went, and I hope next time it would be more exciting and memorable. But I would give it a seven out of ten.
